WOW...You learn something new everyday!
I just can't believe it; our 2 1/2 year old boy, Hoss, has finally gotten it right! He has bred many times already using artificial insemination (home and as a stud) but has never managed to breed naturally...until now. He fathered the litter just born May 16, 2008 to our "retired" female, Weezie. Poor Weezie. We had no intentions of breeding her again, and with Hoss not being a natural breeder, we didn't think we had to worry about getting her spayed. WRONG! I just realized about a week and a half ago that she might be pregnant, and sure enough, she was. Hoss is the MAN, but poor Weezie. She's doing very well since she's always been healthy anyway, but I still feel SO sorry for her. We'll be sure to have her fixed after this...and any future retirees we think are "safe"!
